Lance Cronin - goalkeeper of Ebbsfleet United’s FA Trophy winning team - has rejoined the club on a short-term loan.

And he will go straight into the squad for the game at table toppers Fleetwood tonight.

Fleet boss Liam Daish was faced with a dilemma after regular keeper Preston Edwards picked up a three-match ban after a straight red card at the weekend clash against Bath.

With back-up keep Joe Welch on loan at Bromley, Daish drafted in the experienced short-stopper who played more than 185 games for the club - including the memorable 2008 FA Trophy win at Wembley.

The 26-year-old left the club in 2010 - signing for local rivals Gillingham. He then moved to Bristol Rovers in the summer.

Boss Daish said: “Lance joins us on a month’s loan. I have no reservations about bringing him back to the club which he served with distinction and I know the fans will give him a warm welcome.”
