A sports scientist who has worked with the likes of four-time Ballon D’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, has joined the backroom staff of National League South strugglers Welling United.

Craig Lewis, who has worked with the Real Madrid and former Manchester United star with the Portuguese national team, was appointed by the Wings ahead of their emphatic 4-0 win over Gosport Borough on Saturday.

Performing under new boss, former West Ham and Charlton coach Alex Dyer, the Wings ran riot at Park View Road, courtesy of two goals each from Pierre Joseph-Dubois and Alex Cathline.
