Crusaders’ captain signs up for another season and wants top four spot.
MEDWAY Park Crusaders have been given a boost for the coming season with the news that long-serving captain James Harris is set to return for his eighth season.
The 29-year-old from Canterbury has played 180 games for the side after joining in 2004.
The shooting guard is looking forward to another season in Division One of the English Basketball League.
He said: “I feel we under achieved last year, but proved that we can compete in Division One. I’m looking forward to getting another run at it.
“As far as being captain, it will be an honour to lead the team again.
“Depending on who we sign and get back, I believe we could win it all.
“We lost a lot of games last year that we shouldn’t have and if we had won those, we would’ve been looking at a top four finish. We should be aiming to win it all next time out.”
Crusaders coach, James Vear, is also happy to have his captain back for another year.
He said: “James is the club’s longest standing player and has been at the club since the very beginning.
“He is a great shooter but he has worked very hard at other aspects of his game to make him a more complete player.
“He also has done a great job as captain.”
