Man knocked out in cowardly early-morning attack

Police are hunting a cowardly thug who assaulted a man from behind in the early hours of the morning.

The victim, a 40-year-old Rainham man, was struck in the back of the head and left unconscious.

He also suffered an injury to his face and to his right leg.

The attack took place in Station Road, Rainham, at 1am on Sunday, February 21.

A police spokesman said: "We hope people using the nearby taxi rank may have information that could help us with our inquiries."

Anyone with information is asked to call the investigating officers on 01634 792425 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
