Following a tough few months of feeling the effects of the recession businessman and Lib Dem hopeful Peter Carroll has sold his haulage firm.
Mr Carroll told Yourmaidstone he feels a weight has been lifted off his shoulders after merging his company Seymour Transport with a Devon firm.
The Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate said: “I had a really worrying time during the summer and wasn’t sure if there was a future, but I have sold it now and I am really happy as it means jobs are secured.
“It really is a huge weight off my shoulders and it means I can concentrate more on campaigning in Maidstone.”
Mr Carroll will continue to work part time for his former company in Larkfield, helping with sales and administration tasks.
He will also devote more time to campaigning for Gurkha rights in this coun try. He fought alongside Joanna Lumley for pension recognition and UK living rights for the former soldiers.
