AFC Wimbledon v Ebbsfleet United
Kick-off 7.45pm at Kingsmeadow
Liam Daish takes his injury-hit Ebbsfleet squad to Surrey tonight desperate to end their six-match losing streak and hunting their first goal in 10 hours of football.
Fleet’s defence is down to the bare bones after Leon Crooks hobbled off during the first-half of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Tamworth, and his replacement, Clint Easton, failed to reappear for the second-half. Both will miss tonight’s game.
Also unavailable is captain Darius Charles, suspended after receiving a straight red card for dissent in the same game, and assistant manager Paul McCarthy may be forced into action alongside Ross Smith at centre-back.
McCarthy was the last Fleet player to find the net back on September 29 in a 2-1 defeat to Salisbury City, although Daish’s side did manage a 2-2 draw 10 days earlier when the Dons visited Stonebridge Road.
One of the Fleet scorers that night was Luis Cumbers, on loan from Gillingham, and the striker could start against his former team-mates tonight having joined Terry Brown’s side on a month-long deal upon returning to Priestfield.
Luke Moore will be another familiar face for Fleet fans - having joined from Stonebridge Road in the summer, the forward has already made 19 appearances for his new club, scoring four times.
AFC have struggled for results in recent weeks, winning only once in seven including a 1-0 reverse against York in front of 4,016 at Kingsmeadow on Saturday.
Defender Alan Inns is a long-term injury absentee, having been told yesterday he will be out for up to nine months with anterior cruciate knee ligament damage.
