Peterborough Islanders 0 Invicta Dynamos 14

Invicta Dynamos made light work of Peterborough Islanders as their top versus bottom clash went to form on Saturday.

Head coach Kevin Parrish admitted before the game his side’s biggest problem was complacency, but he need not have worried. The Mos have shown a ruthlessness against the division’s weaker sides this season and they hit double figures for the sixth time in 14 games.

The game was virtually over as a contest by the end of the first period, by which time the visitors had opened a 5-0 lead. Nolan Boike got them up and running, before Joe Johnston and Nicky Lewis extended the gap.

Loyde Fuller scored his first goal for the Mos to make it 4-0 and Boike grabbed his second of the evening before the first break.

Lewis, Johnston, Ryan Giles and Peter Vaisanen were all on target in the second period, while two for Andy Smith made it 11-0 with 20 minutes still to play.

There was no sign of the Mos winding down in the final frame as Boike scored twice more to sandwich an effort from Elliot Andrews.

The Mos were due to visit Haringey Greyhounds on Sunday, but the game was called off at short notice. Parrish’s side were awarded a 5-0 walkover, which extended their lead at the top of the National South to three points.

Streatham Redskins visit the Ice Bowl on Sunday, face-off 5.15pm.
