Hundreds of people are expected to join a Christmas fun run being held to raise vital funds for a charity next weekend.
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) has urged adults and children to get fit while getting in the festive spirit by joining the first Santa Jog it is holding in Kent.
The fun run will take place in Calverley Grounds in Tunbridge Wells on Sunday, November 29, with joggers aged 14 and over being given free Santa suits to wear.
Participants can walk, jog or run one to five laps of the one kilometre route in the park to collect sponsorship for BHF.
A charity spokesman said: “The Tunbridge Wells Santa Jog is the perfect distraction in the lead up to Christmas, not only to get fit and have fun, but get away from the Christmas rush and winter blues.
“This is a great event for all the family; all ages are welcome, so why not team up with friends, colleagues and family, and start the celebrations early.”
Youngsters aged under 14 are asked to come in festive fancy dress, with the best costume winning a family ticket to the Peter Pan panto being staged at the Assembly Hall in Tunbridge Wells next month.
The spokesman added: “Your sponsorship money could really help the BHF save more lives this Christmas and to encourage everyone to raise as much as they can there is a Nintendo Wii up for grabs.
“To be in with a chance of winning it, participants need to raise £50 in sponsorship and they will be automatically entered into a free prize draw.”
