Teams are working to repair the damage but long delays expected

Motorists using Maidstone town centre say they expect traffic delays during this evening and Thursday morning’s rush hour after a water main burst.

Lane one of two remains closed on the Loose Road heading out of the town centre, just before the Wheatsheaf junction.

Teams from South East Water are at the scene fixing the burst main but work is not expected to finish until 3.30pm on Thursday.

Highways chiefs says delays are expected back to the bridge system throughout peak periods and that motorists should seek alternative routes where possible.
