A parody video by Kent Fire and Rescue Service has set social media alight.
The video, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of the classic romance, Dirty Dancing, has received more than a thousand retweets and almost two thousand likes on Twitter since it was posted over the weekend.
In the 44-second clip, two firefighters step into the roles of Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey and put that famous lift to good use by reminding viewers to test their smoke alarms regularly.
The tweet accompanying the video said: “Nobody puts fire safety in the corner! Keep having the time of your life – test your smoke alarm weekly #DirtyDancing #1987.”
Last month the service produced another popular video, parodying the Stephen King thriller, IT, featuring a spooky red balloon; which represents the fear of a house fire or fire itself.
The balloon makes its way into a family home, only to be stopped by a firefighter who reaches up to test the home’s smoke alarm.
