Detectives have now charged three teenagers with murder following the death of a homeless Romanian man in Maidstone woodland.

Charlie White, 18, and of no fixed address was arrested in the Maidstone area on Tuesday and has been charged with the murder of Razvan Sirbu between May 6 and 7 along with Alex McDonald, 18, of Regency Place, Maidstone and Jimmy Buckley, 19, of Capell Close, Coxheath.

Mr Sirbu, 21, of no fixed address, was found dead at 7.15am on Sunday 7 May 2017, at a location in the Loose Valley Conservation Area.

Results from a post mortem examination revealed he had died from blunt force trauma to the head and body.

A university student living near the scene of the crime claims he “knew something was going to happen” to Mr Sirbu and has launched a JustGiving page, which so far has received more than £1,000 in donations, to raise money for Mr Sirbu’s funeral.

All three have now appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court and been remanded in custody.

Two boys, aged 14 and 15, who were also arrested in connection with the incident have been bailed pending further enquiries until June 8.
