Both premain in police custody

Police have arrested two teenagers as part of a murder investigation after a man was bludgeoned to death in Maidstone woodland over the weekend.

Razvan Sirbu, 21, of no fixed address, was found dead on Sunday in the Loose Valley Conservation area in Tovil at 7.15am.

Results from a post-mortem examination reveal that he died from blunt force trauma to the head and body.

As part of the investigation a photograph of the victim has been provided by the family to appeal to anyone who may have seen Mr Sirbu or was in the area between 4pm on Saturday and 7am on Sunday.

During Thursday evening, detectives arrested an 18-year-old man near Aylesham and a 19-year-old man in a location within Maidstone.

Both suspects are from the county town area and remain in police custody.
