Two crashes cause rush hour chaos on Friday morning

Two crashes have brought chaos to rush hour traffic in and around the M25 and A2 this morning in Kent.

During the peak morning period, the A2 was blocked in the London-bound direction at the junction with the M25 due to an accident.

The London-bound exit slip road for the M25 was closed causing slow moving traffic on the approach stretching back to junction one of the M2.

The vehicle involved has been removed and traffic is moving again, but with long delays of up to 30 minutes.

To add to the queues, there has been a separate smash heading coastbound and the A2 was closed in the coastbound direction also at the junction with the M25.

Queues at 9am stretched back back to Bexleyheath.

Highways chiefs warned to expect long delays in the area.
