Police are reportedly at the scene

Motorists heading in and out of London via the A2 are facing delays after two horses got loose this afternoon (Thursday).

Kent Police officers were called to the scene at 2.24pm after the horses escaped onto the hard shoulder of the London-bound carriageway.

Traffic was stopped in both directions between the A2018 for Dartford Heath and the M25 Darenth Interchange for nearly two hours while police safely recovered the horses.
