Wikipedia page claims he died - but politician takes to Twitter to clarify

Leader of the UK Independence Party (Ukip) Nigel Farage was today forced to deny reports he had died, after someone altered his entry on online encyclopedia Wikipedia.

Pranksters said the 47-year-old, who lives in Westerham, had died, sparking rumours of his death to circulate on the internet and social networking site Twitter.

But writing on his own Twitter feed this afternoon, the south east MEP, was quick to put the record straight.

He tweeted: “Reports of my demise are premature, I am pleased to say. I am at my desk, working hard.”

The Wikipedia page has now been corrected.
