Two men in hospital after smash between lorry and van closed M20 for ELEVEN HOURS

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash

Two men are recovering hospital after a smash between a lorry and a van closed the M20 for some 11 hours on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called at around 4.09pm after the two vehicles collided on the coastbound carriageway of the M20 spur road to the A20 at junction 8 near Maidstone.

Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where two men received medical attention for minor injuries. They were both taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

The road remained closed until 3am on Thursday for barrier repairs.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the vehicles immediately before or during the collision, or who have dashcam footage to get in contact.
