Tunbridge Wells man charged with spitting at police officers

Alexandru Pletosu will appear before Maidstone Magistrates’ on October 16

A Tunbridge Wells man has been charged with assaulting and spitting at police officers.

Alexandru Pletosu, 28 and of Broadwater Down, was arrested on Sunday after police had been called to an altercation in the same road.

As he was being arrested it is alleged Pletosu then assaulted and verbally abused officers.

He has now been charged with two offences of assault by beating, assaulting a police constable in the execution of their duty and obstructing or resisting a police constable in the execution of their duty.

Pletosu has been bailed to appear before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on October 16.
