Emergency repair works will cause hold-ups in the county town

Motorists are being urged to allow extra time for their journeys after temporary traffic lights were put in place on a busy Maidstone road.

Workmen are carrying out emergency carriageway repairs to a stretch of the Sutton Road at the junction with Bircholt Road.

It means temporary lights have been put up but that will cause hold-ups during peak periods.

Highways chiefs say motorists should expect delays in the area and allow extra time for their journeys.
