17-year-old was asleep in static home in Hever in Edenbridge

A teenager has been killed after a tree fell onto the static home she was sleeping in as Kent was battered by the storm this morning.

Emergency services were called to Hever in Edenbridge at 7.18am following a report a 17-year-old girl was seriously injured.

A tree had fallen onto a static home during high winds. Tragically, the girl died of her injuries.

The county woke this morning to winds reaching 80mph in some parts. More than 100 trees have come down.
