A 47-year-old man, arrested in an early morning raid in Folkestone on Sunday morning, has this evening been charged by police with double murder.

Police say Stephen Farrow faces being charged with the murders of vicar, the Reverend John Suddards, 59, at his vicarage in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, and retired teacher Betty Yates, 77, at her cottage in Bewdley.

Mr Farrow was arrested on Sunday morning at a property in Black Bull Road after a tip off by a member of the public.

He will appear before magistrates in North Avon on Thursday.
