Two men have been arrested while police appeal for witnesses

The victim of a stabbing left hospitalised at the weekend is thought to have walked away from an altercation outside a Ditton petrol station just moments before he was attacked.

Police believe the victim had been involved in a fracas involving a number of people outside the Esso in London Road at around 3am on Saturday morning.

A police spokesperson said the man was later “violently attacked” while walking in New Hythe Lane, Larkfield, around 20 minutes walk away.

Paramedics rushed the victim to hospital, with injuries described as serious but not life threatening.

Two men, both aged 21 and from the West Malling area, were arrested in connection with the attack but have since been released pending further investigation.

A spokesperson from Kent Police said: “Anyone with information which can assist these enquires is urged to call 01622 604100, quoting reference 29-0170.

“Alternatively, contact Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
