South Thanet race: Now actor Ross Kemp attacks Ukip’s Nigel Farage

Said Tories are ‘no better’ than Ukip
Actor Ross Kemp, best known for starring in soap Eastenders, has accused Ukip of ‘running down’ Thanet.
In a letter that he will send out to 10,000 Ramsgate residents, lifelong Labour voter Mr Kemp urges people to vote for Will Scobie.
The letter says: “I’ve seen that Nigel Farage and Ukip has targeted your area, and I’ve seen almost nothing other than him and the media running your area down. That upsets me. And the Tories aren’t any better. They are putting up a ‘same difference’ candidate, Craig Mackinlay, who has run five times for Ukip before defecting to the Tories to try and get elected.
“He shares Farage’s divisive agenda, and voting for him would really be just the same as voting for Ukip.”
He joins a long list of famous faces who have become involved in the race for South Thanet - last week Tory Boris Johnson visited the area, and chancellor George Osborne also popped down to lend support to Conservative hopeful Craig Mackinlay.
The polls are currently very close, with Labour’s Will Scobie dismissing claims from the Tories that this is a ‘two-horse race’ between Ukip and the Conservatives.
