A seven-year-old was rushed to hospital following a collision with a car last night (July 4).

The boy was riding a bicycle just before 7pm on Churchill Avenue, Folkestone, when the collision happened. He was left seriously injured and the car ended up hitting a tree.

The boy, from Folkestone, who had been riding his bike with friends, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with arm, leg and head injuries. He is currently in a stable condition.

A woman, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to the same hospital but her injury is not thought to be serious. The man driving also went for a check up. The road was closed until 9.35pm.
