Police called to roof protest at Medway Council offices

Officers remain on the scene

Police were called to the scene of a protest outside Medway Council’s offices this morning.

A number of campaigners, including one sat on the roof above the main entrance, were in attendance for the demonstration, reported on social media to be over a row with social services.

A police spokesperson said: “Kent Police has been made aware of a protest on a roof in Dock Road, Chatham.

“Officers were called to the scene at 7.21am on Tuesday.

“This incident is ongoing.”

Medway Council has been contacted for comment.
