Incident one of a number of incidents which saw cars in Dover damaged

A 29-year-old man has been arrested by police suspected of hurling a microwave into the windscreen of a parked car.

He was taken into custody on Wednesday on suspicion of causing damage to a total of five vehicles in the Lascelles Road area of Dover late last month.

It relates to incidents between September 18 to 25. During which time there were reports an item had been thrown from a garden to damage a car. Two days later the same car had its rear windscreen broken.

On September 23, it is claimed someone used a “bat-like” object to break the tail light of another car, before, two days later, three further cars were damaged - including throwing a microwave into the windscreen of one of them.

The arrested man has been released pending further enquiries.
