The accident happened in Packington Square


Southeastern have confirmed that someone has been hit. Updates to follow.

All lines to and from Margate Station are closed due to a person being hit by a train.

Southeastern have released this statement: “Due to a person hit by a train at Margate all lines are closed.

“Train services running through this station may be delayed or revised and disruption is expected until 5pm.

“Trains may be terminated early or diverted. We are waiting for emergency services and Network Rail to provide further updates.”

Stagecoach Buses are accepting tickets between Margate and Ramsgate.

Additional buses are being arranged, but there is no estimate as to when these may be available.
