Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place on Monday morning

A 78-year-old woman remains in hospital today with a serious head injury after being hit by a car in Tunbridge Wells this week.

Police and emergency services were called at around 10.49am on Monday after reports a car had hit a pedestrian on Prospect Road, near the junction to Pembury Road.

The driver and the vehicle involved, a black Vauxhall Zafira, were still at the scene when officers arrived.

Collision investigators are now appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who saw the vehicle or pedestrian in the moments leading up to it.
