Pensioner fighting for life in hospital after car overturns in Gillingham crash

A pensioner is fighting for his life in hospital after being involved in a horror crash in Gillingham on Tuesday.

The smash on the A2, Watling Street occurred at around 2.45pm on Tuesday, when a silver Vauxhall Corsa was in a collision with a gold coloured Microcar M.GO at a location close to Beechwood Avenue.

The Microcar overturned and the driver, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains in a critical condition.

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to hear from any witnesses who saw the collision or either vehicle prior to it.
