A 52-year-old was left needing stitches in his cheek after being hit in the face with a brick in Folkestone.

The man was walking from Sunny Sands along The Stade in the harbour area between 5pm and 5.30pm on Friday, July 27, when a brick was thrown at him.

He was knocked unconscious and taken to the William Harvey Hospital where he needed seven stitches to his cheek.

He also had bruising and swelling and a cracked tooth following the assault.

Police would like to trace four white teenage boys, one of whom was possibly wearing green swimming trunks.

It was a sunny evening and police believe there are many potential witnesses.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact PC Kirsty Gee on 101 quoting crime reference ZY/20975/12.

Alternatively call Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
