Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Barming

The 51-year-old suspect remains in custody

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder in Barming.

Officers were called to the Maidstone village at around 7.20pm on Monday night to reports a man had been injured in Heath Road.

Enquiries later led to the seizure of a knife at a separate location.

The victim was taken to a London hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

The 51-year-old suspect is known to the victim and also being treated in hospital for injuries, which are not serious. He remains in custody.
