Gillingham murder victim named as 17-year-old Kyle Yule

It follows an incident on Friday evening
Two teenagers are being held by police after the murder of 17-year-old Kyle Yule last week.
Police were called to East Street in Gillingham at 8.10pm on Friday, after a number of people were damaging a silver Renault Clio.
Shortly afterwards, Kyle was stabbed multiple times and was rushed to hospital, where he later died.
A 15-year-old boy from the town was arrested after the incident, while Kent Police detectives arrested an 18-year-old at around 6pm on Saturday.
Both are in police custody on suspicion of Kyle’s murder.
Friends and relatives of Kyle’s held a vigil in his memory on Saturday in Gillingham High Street.
Chief inspector Simon Alland said: “Officers attended and the gathering passed peacefully with no arrests.
“It is understandable that local people have been shocked and saddened by this incident, but I would like to reassure them that we are continuing to liaise closely with Kyle’s family and are making swift progress with the investigation.”
Detectives are now appealing for any witnesses who may have seen a group of people running from East Street, towards West Street, at around 8.30pm on Friday.
