Rehman Chishti wins for the Conservatives

Voters have spent Thursday finally making their decision on who will lead the country – and the results are due in the early hours of Friday morning.

The candidates are:

Paul Chaplin (Lib Dems) - 1,372

Rehman Chishti (Cons) - 27,091

Martin Cook (Ukip) - 2,097

Clive Gregory (Green) - 520

Roger Peacock (Christian) - 127

Andy Stamp (Labour) - 17,661

Turnout: 67%

Results of the 2015 election:

Mark Hanson (Ukip) - 19.5%

Jacqui Berry (TUSC) - 0.6%

Paul Chaplin (Lib Dem) - 3.6%

Neil Williams (Green) - 2.4%

Paul Clark (Lab) - 25.6%

Rehman Chishti (Con) - 48% - ELECTED

Roger Peacock (Ind) - 0.2%

Mike Walters (Ind) - 0.1%
