Follows incidents during the League One clash last weekend

Police have charged two men following a series of alleged offences at Gillingham’s home match against Charlton Athletic last weekend.

Brogue Stevens, 20, of Cobham Chase in Faversham was arrested on suspicion of throwing a smoke grenade and possessing an offensive weapon.

He has since been charged with both offences and bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates Court on October 10.

Charles Priston, 24, of Bladindon Drive in Bexley, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a smoke grenade after being searched.

He has been charged with the offence and bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates Court on October 3.

Two 20-year-old men, one from Swanley and the other from Thamesmead, were also arrested on suspicion of assault.

Both have been released pending further enquiries.
