Driver hospitalised after smashing into tree near Cranbrook

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a car smashed into a tree near Cranbrook.

At around 10.45pm on Thursday, a silver Toyota Avensis was travelling on the A262 away from Goudhurst, towards Lamberhurst when it left the road and hit a tree by Clayhill near to the junction with Smiths Lane.

A man, the single occupant, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital by ambulance.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision, or who may have seen the car beforehand.
