Two men in their 20s have been arrested following the smash which sparked long delays in the city

A suspected drink-driver sped away from police before crashing into a roundabout in Canterbury - sparking delays across the city throughout the morning.

The A28 Sturry Road was shut for several hours following the smash, involving a Volkswagen Passat, at around 4am near the Stour Retail Park.

Two men in their 20s were arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit.

One of the men suffered injuries, thought to be minor. Both men have been taken to a local hospital.

The road has now re-opened.
