Evening entertainment to mark the event
Olympic fever is continuing across Kent this week with Dover’s live site screening the Games and the closing ceremony.
The big screen in Market Square has been dressed up with Olympic flags and colourful beanbags so everyone can sit back, relax and enjoy the final week of the Games.
The live broadcasts are becoming more and more popular as excitement builds moving towards the closing ceremony, entitled ‘A Symphony of British Music’, taking place on Sunday.
An event is to be held in Dover’s Market Square on Sunday from 6pm until 9pm to mark the occasion, starting with a free Zumba party from 6pm – 7pm open to everyone.
Further entertainment will lead into the countdown to the closing ceremony, starting at 9pm on the big screen and featuring more than 4,000 performers.
The ceremony involves the flag entrance at 9.15pm, athletes’ entrance at 9.30pm and the handover to Rio de Janeiro for 2016 Olympic Games at 11.15pm.
