Michael Osbourne and Marina Smythe will appear before West Kent Magistrates Court on September 19

A couple have been charged following the death of their three-week-old child in Tonbridge.

Michael Osbourne, 21, of Walters Farm Road, and Marina Smythe, 20, formerly of the same address, are both accused of causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm.

Paramedics and an air ambulance were scrambled to the family home in December 2016 but the child, Bailey Smythe-Osbourne, could not be revived.

Osbourne and Smythe have been bailed to appear before West Kent Magistrates’ Court on September 19.
