Police say there are no safety concerns but may be heard for a considerable distance

The Ministry of Defence’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team is preparing to perform a controlled explosion of a Second World War bomb found in a quarry later this morning.

The device was discovered on Thursday in an area of Kings Hill, West Malling.

A police spokesperson said: “There are no safety concerns for the local vicinity; however it is possible that the explosion may be heard for a considerable distance and police would like to remind residents there is no cause for alarm.”
