Barrier repairs keeps one lane shut

Motorists are advised to expect long delays getting in and out of Canterbury again today following the crash on the A2 yesterday (Monday).

One lane of the A2 westbound, between the A28 Wincheap and A2050 Harbledown bypass is closed after a car plunged off a bridge and onto the cycle path below.

It is closed to allow barrier repairs.

Two people were rescued from the wreckage of their car by emergency crews but are believed to have escaped with only minor injuries. Both were treated at the local hospital.

The A2 westbound entry slip road at the A28 Wincheap has also been closed.
