Two men were reportedly approached by the gang after walking home from a night out

Four arrests have been made after two men were attacked by a gang of ten in Tunbridge Wells.

One of the two victims was reported to have sustained serious injuries, which were not life threatening, and was taken to a local hospital.

The assault itself took place near a pedestrian crossing in Mount Pleasant Road at around 3.45am on Sunday, February 19 and officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses.

The two victims are reported to have been walking home when a group of up to ten men started following and shouting at them.

They were then approached and assaulted by the group

Two people from Tonbridge, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, are currently in custody having been arrested on suspicion of assault on Tuesday, February 21.

A further two men, both 18 and from Tonbridge were arrested on the afternoon of Monday, February 20. They have been bailed, pending further enquiries, until Thursday, April 27.

Detective Inspector Simon Davy, from the crime investigation department, said: “This is a report we are taking extremely seriously and we are grateful to everyone who has shared information with us.

“This information has helped us identify and arrest four suspects. That being said, we are still keen to hear from anyone who has information on the incident but has not yet spoken with us.
