Indie star to head to Googies in June
The lead singer of Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine - the band which secured a string of big hits in the early 1990s - has confirmed an intimiate show in Folkestone in June.
Jim ‘Jim Bob’ Morrison will be playing at Googies on June 1.
The show will feature songs from his solo catalogue, his Carter days and include readings from his upcoming new novel, Driving Jarvis Ham.
Carter USM - which featured Jim Bob along with Les ‘Fruitbat’ Carter - shot to fame with singles such as Sheriff Fatman, After the Watershed and the Only Living Boy in New Cross. Their album 1992 - The Love Album - was a number one best-seller.
Since they split in 1998, the duo have reunited for a number of one-off greatest hits shows - their latest a sell-out at London’s Brixton Academy in November.
Les Carter now lives in Folkestone and played the same venue last year.
Jim Bob has released a series of solo albums, and most recently performed the theme music for Radio 4 comedy Mr Blue Sky.
Tickets are on sale now and cost £5.
