A cage fighter accused of plotting the £53 million Securitas robbery is to be questioned in Morocco at the request of Kent Police.
Lee Murray, 29, from Sidcup, is charged with conspiracy to rob, conspiracy to kidnap and conspiracy to possess firearms in connection with the raid in Tonbridge, in February 2006.
Last year five members of the gang responsible were convicted and jailed for their part in the UK’s biggest ever cash heist but a Moroccan court ruled last week that Murray would not be extradited from the UK because he has joint British and Moroccan nationality.
However, a Kent Police spokeswoman told the BBC there had been a request that he still be prosecuted.
She said: "The Moroccans will now carry out an investigation on behalf of Kent Police.
"Lee Murray has been interviewed by Moroccan police and is now going through the Moroccan judicial system."
The Securitas robbery saw manager Colin Dixon and his family kidnapped at gunpoint by men imitating police officers.
Police have since recovered around £20million of the cash but millions more remain unaccounted for.
The gang members convicted last year were found guilty of kidnap, robbery and firearms charges.
Stuart Royal, 49, from Maidstone; Jetmir Bucpapa, 26, from Tonbridge; Roger Coutts, 30, from Welling, south-east London; and Lea Rusha, 35, from Southborough, will all serve a minimum of 15 years in prison.
Emir Hysenaj, 28, from Crowborough, East Sussex, will serve a minimum of 10.
