FA TROPHY THIRD QUALIFYING ROUND

Bromley v Maidstone United

The Stones' injury-ravaged squad take on a Bromley side who, with their FA Cup run ended unceremoniously by Colchester two weeks ago, will be keen to maintain their interest in the Trophy.

Both sides lost last weekend, but Maidstone bounced back with a 2-1 midweek win against Sutton United. Key duo James Peacock and Dean Hernandez-Bradshaw are doubts but Ashley Ulph and Roland Edge could return after ankle problems.

With striker Matthew Wright returning to Crystal Palace, veteran forward Lynden Rowland should start after scoring twice against Sutton.

Ramsgate v Bishop's Stortford

On paper this looks a very difficult tie for Jim Ward's side against a Stortford side who are sixth in Blue Square South. But the Hertfordshire outfit had a shock 1-0 home defeat to bottom club Weymouth last Saturday, while Ramsgate were battling to a 1-1 draw at Met Police.

Defender Will Graham, who was taken ill just before the Met Police game, should be fit to return.

Welling United v Tonbridge Angels (Sunday, 2pm kick-off)

Two teams bang in form meet at Park View Road in an intriguing all-Kent cup tie.

Angels have won their last five in all competitions and crushed Merstham 6-1 in the last round. Two seasons ago they knocked out Oxford United in the first round and Tommy Warrilow will be keen on another Trophy run.

Welling are on a run of three wins without conceding a goal. New player/boss Jamie Day has no injury worries but is cup-tied after featuring earlier in the competition for Dartford. Striker Lee Clarke is also unavailable after playing for Cambridge City.

RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION

Ashford Town (Middx) v Cray Wanderers

Cray manager Ian Jenkins's task of trying to lift Cray away from the bottom reaches of the Ryman Premier was not made any easier by the resignation of reserve team manager Mark Hanscombe.

Wanderers lost 3-2 at Wealdstone on Tuesday, extending their winless run to eight games in all competitions. Ashford can be a tough place to visit and have hit some form with successive league victories.

RYMAN DIVISION ONE SOUTH

Burgess Hill Town v Ashford Town

Ashford manager Steve Lovell keeps insisting better times are just around the corner at Homelands, but their league position is still a big cause for concern.

Ashford have a lengthy injury list but could welcome back Paul Jones, who has been struggling with a groin injury. The trip to Sussex is never an easy one against a Hillians side who are rarely generous hosts at home.

Fleet Town v Chatham Town

Defeats to Corinthian-Casuals and Whyteleafe in the last week have dented the Chats’ progress but they have made a habit out of beating the division’s stronger sides.

Fleet are strong play-off contenders and have a couple of games in hand on the Chats, who will again be without midfielder Brad Potter (ankle). Striker Lee Barnett is still not fully fit and should start on the bench.

Folkestone Invicta v Worthing

The undoubted match of the day in the Ryman South, with only goal difference separates the sides at the top, with Worthing going into the game as leaders.

Folkestone’s threadbare squad means manager Neil Cugley should name the same side which started Tuesday’s 1-0 win against Met Police.

Sittingbourne v Leatherhead

Sittingbourne's good run came to an end with a 2-1 defeat at home to Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday.

A game against a mediocre Leatherhead side this afternoon represents an immediate chance to make amends. Striker Tom Bradbrook is available again and could start at the expense Elie Kayembe.

Horsham YMCA v Whitstable Town

The Oystermen have gone 11 leaguee games without a win, but Mark Munday's men now meet the three sides directly above them in the table in their next three matches.

Reinforcements are in the pipeline but unlikely to arrive in time for this afternoon, so Town could be unchanged from the side which started last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Walton Casuals.

For all the build-up to the games, including an in-depth look at the FA Trophy tie between Dover and Dartford, see tomorrow's Kent on Saturday.
