Police reveal plans to manage green protestors
Kingsnorth Power Station
Two public meetings are to be held to discuss plans for a Camp for Climate Action which is to be held at E.ON's Kingsnorth site from August 3 to 12, to protest over a proposed coal power station.

Police have organised the meetings along with Medway council to inform locals about security at the event.

The first Camp for Climate Action, held at Heathrow Airport in August 2007, was attended by more than 1,000 protesters.

It required up to 1,800 police at a cost of more than £7m, according to Scotland Yard.

Kent police will work with forces from around the country to manage the event.

A statement said: "We will provide policing to enable lawful protest, but will act when necessary to enforce the law."

The first public meeting will be held at BAE Sports and Social Club in Hoo on June 10, while the second will be at Grain Village Hall, Grain, on  June 12.
