A police officer was stabbed in the leg while attempting to deal with a reported incident of threatening behaviour involving two passengers on a P&O ferry yesterday (Tue, Feb 9).
Officers from the Port of Dover Police boarded the Pride of Calais vessel when it arrived at Dover Eastern Docks at about 1.50pm.
Inspector Neil Care said: “While officers investigated the allegation, a Port of Dover Police Constable sustained a knife-wound to his leg.
“The officer has been conveyed to the William Harvey Hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
“A 61 year-old French national has been arrested and no other individual is sought in respect of the incident.”
