The far-right British National Party has unveiled plans to stand candidates in every ward in Medway in the next local elections after claiming “huge support” across the towns.
A spokesman for the fascist neo-Nazi group said they hoped to send BNP members out into every one of Medway’s 22 wards ahead of the 2011 vote to spread their message of hate.
Only three candidates were put forward in 2003 and 2007.
Chatham and Aylesford MP Jonathan Shaw said all the major parties in Medway were opposed to the BNP.
He said: “They’re a bunch of losers and the nasty lies they peddle received with a big thumbs down by the electorate in Medway in 2007.
“In Princes Park all the major parties were deeply opposed and were united with the community against the BNP, who subsequently did not make an impact in the election.
“I think the BNP have been known for inflating their predictions in the past and are being rather presumptuous if they think they will do well in Medway in 2011.”
BNP’s south east regional organiser Andrew McBride insisted his party was on the rise, saying: “We’ve got a huge support base in Medway and Kent. It’s immense at the moment.
“We’ve grown so rapidly that we’re having a problem keeping up with membership requests and are having to set up new branches to take the pressure off our party organisers.
“There’s always been support on the doorstep. Now party membership is increasing all across Kent.
“We hope we can stand candidates in every ward in the next local election in Medway although it may not be achievable in the next election.
“But we will do our best to get candidates standing.”
The Gillingham branch of the BNP met last week for its first meeting in three months.
White supremacist author Arthur Kemp hit out at non-white immigrants saying: “It is wrong for Africa to come to Britain and turn Britain into a mini-Africa.
“That is what is happening today – the Third World is colonising Britain and only the BNP opposes this process.”
According to its constitution, the BNP is “committed to stemming and reversing the tide on non-white immigration”.

The party also proposes “firm but voluntary incentives for immigrants and their descendants to return home.”
