Gillingham’s hunt for new players is set to roll into the coming week after Ronnie Jepson and chairman Paul Scally drew a blank.
Scally had revealed to Kent on Sunday last weekend he hoped to land two new players ahead of Saturday’s game against Cheltenham.
But negotiations have slowed and fans desperate to see the squad boosted will now have to wait a little longer.
Among the key targets are ex-Sheffield United striker Neil Shipperley.
