Explosive experts at Fort Halstead have started examining the car packed with explosives found in central London on Friday.
The car, parked at Haymarket, near Piccadilly, in the early hours of Friday morning contained a bomb made from gas cylinders and petrol and nails.
Bouncers at a nearby nightclub alerted police who cordoned off the area and made the device safe.
Fort Halstead, near Sevenoaks, houses the Ministry of Defence’s Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, and has been used to forensically examine a number of vehicles used in high-profile incidents.
It checked the double-decker bus blown up during the July 11 bomb attacks in 2005.
