Ebbsfleet United have signed 19-year-old midfielder Alex Stavrinou on a one-month loan deal from Charlton Athletc.
The Cyprus youth international, who began his career as a centre-back, had made just two first-team appearances for the Addicks this season and arrives to bolster Liam Daish’s squad for their home game against Mansfield Town on Saturday.
Stavrinou will add a combative presence to the Blue Square Premier strugglers, and is no stranger to Stonebridge Road, having played there for Charlton’s reserves.
Ebbsfleet go into Saturday’s match without a goal in 720 minutes, while the Stags, who sit fifth in the table, also made late moves for emergency loans, with Andy Burgess and Lee Morris joining from Luton Town and Hereford United respectively.
Meanwhile, midfielder Scott Shulton has left Stonebridge Road after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent. Shulton arrived from Wycombe Wanderers in the summer and started eight games for the Fleet but had been loaned out to Bishop’s Stortford and he has now joined the Blue Square South side on a permanent basis.
