AN airship the size of a jumbo jet flew over the White Cliffs of Dover at the weekend before crossing the English Channel.
Large crowds gathered on top of the landmark to see the Spirit of Dubai, which is 66 metres long and 22 metres high, soar overhead about 11am on Saturday morning.
The airship left London, where it has been for the past week, at 9am and flew over Hever Castle, Canterbury Cathedral and the White Cliffs before heading for France.
From there it will fly over Italy and Egypt on route to Dubai, to mark the first residents moving into The Palm Jumeirah - a man-made island which can be seen from space like The Great Wall of China.
The Spirit of Dubai, the world largest commercial airship, is the size of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet.
